Day One

Mission Statement: The mission of Day One is to reduce sexual abuse and violence while supporting and advocating for those affected by it.

Goal of Partnership: Understanding sexual assault, domestic violence, and hate crimes and also understanding the medical, legal, and other processes victim’s face as a result of the crime.

Advocacy Intern

Main Duties:

1. Work at least one 6.5 call shift on our 24/7 helpline per week
2. Respond to a call from a survivor in a hospital or PD and respond in person to advocate for them
3. Complete 36 hour training
4. Meet with supervisor weekly to discuss the realm of sexual assault and meet with different professionals in the industry

Expected Hours Per Week

Student is expected to complete a minimum 6.5 call shift and complete a 1 hour supervision meeting per week.
